So I finally had enough bolt ons and mods where i thought a tune would be helpful. I have all the software and cables to datalog and load tunes(i have a 95). So I emailed pcmforless and all I can say is amazing customer support. After everything was said and done we went back and forth like 4 times. He would send me a tune I would datalog and sent it to him and he would send me another tune. Super easy and super informative. Every time he sent me a new tune he would tell me exactly what he was changing. The car feels allot better especially at part throttle. I raced a new 5.0 the other day and he didn't gain on me and I didn't pull on him all the way to 145. So i am very happy. Just wanted to share my experience with pcmforless and give them a thumbs up.
The list isnt to crazy
GMP Hot cam kit
-roller rockers/springs/etc
-melrose Long tube headers
-High flow cats
-B&B cat back
-K&N airfilter with cut lid
-Airfoil(was installed on the car when i bought it)
-Electric water pump
-Canton racing oil pan with high volume pump
-LT4 knock sensor
-MSD Wires/Cap/Rotor/ and 6AL box
-Dual roller timing set
-Solid Motor Mounts
Im pretty sure thats it. Its a 6 speed. Ill eventually get it dynoed. Before anyone calls ******** on the mustang i was surprised as **** when it happened. Maybe the dude cant drive but it happened.
I have always been very happy with pcmforless as well. Glad to see you had a good experience with them. BTW I believe your 5.0 comparison. The hotcam and headers really wake up the LT1 motor. But as said above, porting your heads, or IMO even better just buy a set of AFR heads, and a 4.10 gear will help even more!!
Edit to say, If you are doing 145, its going to take more then that SUV to catch ya!!

Yeah maybe, but like the saying goes, you can't out run a radio......WW
New heads are definitely high on the list. I am going to go with AFRs 195cc street heads. I read a few articles on them and they put down some very nice numbers. Sadly the interior needs some love and i need new wheels very badly. The saw blades are not doing it for me any more lol. So heads are at spot 4 or 5 on the priority list.
I know everyone recommends gears but i do allot of highway driving. I really like the fact that the vette gets high 20's on the highway. How adversely do 4.10s affect that.
Yea NHP and metro bike patrol do not fool around. If you get pulled over by them you ARE getting a ticket haha.

I'm running 4.10's in my '95 coupe, and I easily get 26 - 28 MPG on highway trips (running approximately 70 MPH).

Hell.....I got 4.10's on my Impala with a 4L60E .
Anyway, with the 6-speed, you'll love 4.10's. In 6th gear, you'll still be below 2000 RPMs at 70 mph so not too much lost, there. Also, you should be able to conduct passing manuevers without downshifting out of 6th gear. Bet you can't do that now!
As for heads, I'd suggest something smaller.....like the 185cc Dart Pro-1's or AFR 185.
Why? Because you still have a stock stroke and because the HOT cam doesn't will have the legs to take advantage of the 195's. The 195's are overkill.
ALSO, the 195's are LT4 spec'ed......which means you'll need to pop for another $400+ for a LT4 intake......$500+ if you go with the Edelbrock intake.
