This is really crazy, changed my vss and trans fluid is leaking from the plug itself, ideas? Only thing I can think of is maybe the new one didn't have the shaft seal on the inside of it.

The seal is internal to the VSS so if it's confirmed that it's leaking through the "connector" then it's time for a VSS.
I can't say that this is what I'd do but if you wanted to try I don't know why you couldn't put a 1mm x 7.5mm FKM o-ring behind the gear to see if it would seal it. The shaft is 7.85mm diameter BUT on an early VSS there's no full diameter of the shaft exposed for the seal to maintain it's diameter. Is there on the later VSS? I don't know.
You "hinted" NEW - if that's new across the counter purchase then it's warranty time I'd think. An Internet purchase would complicate it. Another reason for shopping "local"!!
Yeah it's from the internet and I agree with you on buying local. Think for now I'll put some silicone around the plug and see if that will work. If that does not work I'll pull it off and check the o ring on the shaft.

There isn't an o-ring there presently but if there were any length of the full diameter of the shaft exposed you could try the o-ring. If you clean the VSS connector real well the silicone might do but I believe I'd be trying an RTV type product. Blow dryer to speed the cure! There's nothing to lose!
Might not hurt to exchange an e-mail or two if it was a responsible I-vendor.
