Tire Size
I have 285\40 17's on the rear right now on my 94. If I went down to 275\40's that wouldn't hurt would it? What would I lose or gain if anything, would there be a big difference???

`92 came with 275s on back and also on the later ones with Z51(???) option. I wouldn't see a big difference. IMHO, the widder the tire the better it looks. That's why I have 315s :D

275s are most useful if you are going to do front and rear to match for balance and rotating. They best fit the 9.5 rims and they will outhandle the 285s because they don't pucker on the rims. However, your front rims are 8.5 and won't take them. You will have bigger fronts diameter wise than rear changing the rake and also your speedo. I had the 275 on all 4 and upgraded to the 315 on the 11" rim on the rear. Love the combo and they have identical outer diameters so it didn't affect the balance or speedo.
