Need 85 vette help
Does anyone know exactly how to remove the door lock bezel.Need to replace the door lock switch.Removed the screws and wiper switch ****.Still wont come off.Dont want to force it.THANKS :confused:

Hi, may you have to remove the door panel. I just changed mine last week so I can give you a quick run down. Remove all the visible screws along the bottom, at the side (by the hatch release button) behind the handle, and in the pull handle/armrest. The panel kind of slides back and then off.
Once you have it off just disconnect your doorlocks, wiper harnesses and light (it pulls off the door and hangs by it's wires, be carefull not to break it, I did!) and the panel will come right off. To get the old door lock switch off, one of us gently pushed the plastic posts holding it in place while the other pulled on the lock switch with needle nose pliers (it has three posts on the back). It sounds more complicated than it is, It should take less than an hour start to finish.
I had my door apart for other reasons, so there may be an easier way, but if not this isn't too bad. Be careful not to break the bezel, our GM parts guy told me they don't hake the 84/85 bezel any more.

To remove the door lock bezels on the 85 (assuming it is like my 86) you will have to remove the entire door panel.
If you need new lock bezel's give 18carfan a shout, he hooked me up with two a few weeks back.
