I don't know where you guys put in the fluid......I'm a B-body guy.

But, as far as what fluid to use, I go to the dealership, and use the GM fluid and additive.

Good luck!!

There is a filler/drain plug on the right side of the case.
You will need to suction out the old fluid. GM did not provide a bottom plug. (search & you'll find the mod here)
Using the GM LSD additive is a requirement. Those here on the CF will tell you to double the dose for best results.
As far as what lube to use, its your call. Synthetic or dino both work well.

If you're not gonna pull the rearend, then you need to locate the fill plug on top of the pumpkin, and get a pump for filling, and use it the other way first, and pump out the old oil, then refill with new. h

The fill plug is on the passenger side of the pumpkin, near the top. It probably has an aluminum tag attached to it.

I run Royal Purple but I did add the GM additive just to be safe. Not sure if it is really needed when using Royal Purple or Equivelant.

I just changed my fluid and I used Mobil 1 75-90 synthetic and one bottle of GM additive. Everything seems to be working fine. I used a fluid pump to remove the old fluid and put in the new. I would suggest covering your exhaust pipe with some aluminum foil to keep any gear oil from dripping on it.
