Default 85 wiring question

on my 85 there are 2 tiny holes coming out of the firewall to the left and under the master cylinder.Theres a black wire coming out of each one and one is spliced into the wiring that goes to the red battery cable and the other is not connected to anything.I have one wire on my fan relay thats not connected to anything also the white one i think. Are the two holes with the wires supposed to be there or is it where someone had drilled two holes in there and wired something else up? if there supposed to be there were do they go and what do they control?

If you have a black wire onto a factory red wire that is not stock and something a PO has done, anybodies guess

Does your fan run when it is supposed to , a PO may have put a man switch on it ?

No i think i got bad fusible links.Whats a good stuff you can put on old wires to clean up the outside so you can better tell the color of them? The colors are faded.

As I already said; NOT STOCK wiring
All the factory wires go through the firewall in plugs like shown here

if you think you wanna clean the harness to see the colors better, good idea, get some armour-all cleaner and a rag and start wiping down the length of wire with the cleaner.
Aftter that wipe with armour-all to help get some silicone back to the wire insulation so it does not flake away like most c4 wire insulation will do...but, to clean, wipe down with the cleaner then apply armour-all with a rag or sponge.
