Default 84 OD By-pass

So Im trying to figure out why my OD quit. It "was" working perfect. And I want to do the "by-pass the relay" mod. So my question is; Which blk/tan wire do I ground? I have 3. h

So you need to check the wiring/switches/ connections and the relay
Is the fluid level correct? Low fluid will prevent operation

None
You simply bypass the relay altogether
And if you have 3 tan/ blk wires you are looking in the wrong place

Using this diagram and cutting wires, could you theoretically disable the OD in all gears except fourth? That would be amazing.

Plenty have done it previously

Once you bypass the relay ,you have full manual control anyway, so is personal choice when you engage O/d

Ok, I must be looking at the fuelpump relay, from what Ive read they are the 2 relays hanging between the powerbooster and wiper motor. Correct?

To by-pass it I need to connect the blk/tan to the blue correct? h

So do I just snip the OD relay control or do I have to reattach it to the postive coming out?

Pink /blk or blk/wht (on the input side ) to the blue (output side of relay )

Tan/blk to blue means the relay you are trying to bypass is being operated for no reason

Look at the circuit diagram above
The relay is a electronic switch ; if you remove it then obviously you have to reconnect the wires that went into and out of it in order to complete the power circuit
to the O/d solenoid. (through the switch )

I read somewhere else it was tan to blue. It didnt make any sense to me (looking at the schematic) so I wanted to clarify. Thanks for the help! I will give her a shot tomorrow. Peace. h

That works but rather pointless because the relay would be being operated but would have nothing to switch, given the blue wire to the O/d is no longer on a "switched" relay terminal.

If you really wanted to leave the relay in place , then you could join the blk and the grn wires together at the O/d switch and then run the tan/blk control wire
from the relay to ground through that switch so that switch would manually close the relay like the computer previously did when O/d commanded
