Default CAGS question

I finally disconnected my CAGS. Hardest past was jacking up the vette and getting enough room to slide under there.

I was told that when I unplugged the switch that I would be able to shift into second but the light would still light up asking for the shift to 4th.

Happily I can shift and I don't have a light :yesnod: . Is something wrong here?

Did it work before? My light still works. I go by it when I want to save gas. LOL

The light will only come on under the conditions it was programmed.
Such as less thah 7% throttle, engine temp over 120 and a few other factors.

A friend just bought a '96 LT4 and ask me to disconnect his CAGS. Which side of the trans will I find the harness. I'm getting tired of hearing him cry about not being able to shift. thanks

The harness is on the driver's side of the transmission.
