Default 1992 AC problems

I have a 1992 LT1 with the fancy ac/heater controls (c68 I think it is called with the digital temp and so forth). I cannot get my ac to work. The light above the position selection button flashes so I pull the courtesy and radio fuse for one minute to reset as stated in the owner’s manual. This will fix the problem for about two minutes. By fix I mean the ac compressor will cycle on and off for about two minutes and that’s it. On for about a second off for about seven seconds. Then it has to be reset with pulling the fuses again. The gauge on the low end hook up (that is all I have with my refill kit) shows about 10 psi when compressor is cycling can says it should be 25-35 psi with the current ambient temperature. It has been converted to R-134a (in 2003 I think is what the sticker says).

What are your opinions? Anyone else had this problem? What did you do?

Thanks in advance
Dano

It's telling you it's out of gas. Static, nothing running, should be 70 psi at 70 degrees and even a 1/2 lb of gas would show that. Low Pressure contacts close at 50 psi and will open at 25 psi to keep it from turning into an ice cube or ruining the compressor when there's no gas to carry the oil. I'd just go to a shop and get it leaked checked and then you can decide on a fix. The test will probably be next to nothing because the bucks are in fixing it.
