engine will not stip
I was in the process of purchasing a 1994 C4 today and the car would not turn off by key. He had to disconnect the battery and then turn the key off. If the battery is hooked back up it starts on its own as if a starter relay might be welded. I could barely see the started by looking under car. I looks like wiring is good but there is hole in the back and side of the starter that looks like something had been there. There was also a small cilinder looking part about the size of a bick pin shaft that looked like it could have had two terminal pins in it.
I feel like the starter is good unless there is electronics in side. I bet the altinator probably may be damages.
Any suggestions on where to start. I did purchase it after he reduced price a grand.

Sounds like maybe someone put a remote starter on it, and its acting up. If the relay was welded, it would keep cranking even after being started. Pull the hush panal off under the drivers dash, and look for a 3x4ish black box, with a bunch o wires coming from it. If you find it, try unpluging it. h
