Default Fan and restart

My cooling fan does not come on a 238 or any temperature. Where is the sensor that turns on the fan? The relay and fan are working.

When you start the car are the TBI units supposed to squirt like a port injection unit does. When I turn the key no squirt. Will cleaning the injectors help. As soon as I put a drop of gas in the TBI the car fires right up.

Oh and the idle is usually 1500 RPM. Anyone ever adjust their IAC.

Thank you

In the pass side head between # 6 and * cylinders ( at least that is where the factory put it )

Always a good idea to put the year of your vette in the post

Sounds like an 84 with TBI not sure on that year how the fans are controlled, in the TPI series 85 onwards the main fan is controlled by the ecm, when it sees the temperature has reached 230f it will activate the main cooling fan.
The sensor on the head vetteoz is talking about is for the booster fan in front of the condenser (that is an option)

Hopefully someone with an 84 vette and shop manual can post the idle setup.

84 was the only C4 with a mechanical fan switch like the C3's ( no ECM control of fans )

Thank you for the wiring diagram. Awesome the help all of you offer us newbies. My biggest fear in buying a C4 and newer was all of the bells and whistles. You people have been a great help.
