I get home and call my buddies at the last detail :seeya ..head light motor....for a 94......mmm $268.00.................SEND IT I SAID!!!!!! :yesnod: :yesnod: So now I have a little project for Monday night :D ...any one replce a head light motor on a 94?..It looks like a no brainer   Any tips? Where can I disconnect it from in the mean time so it won't kill the new battery?
Thanks, Larry
Are you sure it's the motor and not the bushings inside? How'd it kill the battery, does it just keep spinning? If you're not positive that it's the motor itself, you might want to try the bushings first; Ecklers P/N: 29304 $4.99/each. The job is tedious but it's not too bad, patience is the key. There is a good tech tip on how to do it, follow it precisely. :yesnod:
Sounds to me that it is the motor. I priced around and got mine for 195. Sorry to hear about it. It is not that hard to change. Just takes time. :smash:
Yes it is the motor  When I hooked up the new battery...spin went the motor :mad ..the I cycled the lights....spin went the motor for about 15 to 25 seconds after the program was finished :cuss I have the shop book...so I guess I will be reading up on the "how to's"

Re: Left head light motor...ARGH!!!! (69mako)
If you hooked up the battery and the motor did spin, then the motor is not bad. It is the gel that was inside the gear that the motor spins to turn the headlight. That gel was a high viscosity sort of goo that goes bad and no longer spins the gear. The motor spins but no friction to move the gear. As mentioned, Ecklers sells a delrin bushing kit for $4.99 per headlight which will allow you to fix the "motor". I've done both of mine. If you follow the instructions in the Tech Tip as mentioned, you can do it yourself. Or you can pay big $ for the new motor assembly.
Well..here goes...Turn on the head lights and the motor pulls the head light up,,no problem...but the motor will not stop...it continues to spin for about 10-20 secs after the headlight goes up or comes down  I think there is still power going to the motor after the cycle is finished :yesnod: and that is what I think drained drained the battery on Friday. If the thick goop went bad..I would think the headlight would not go up or come down :yesnod: or it would not cycle at it's normal up and down rate.. Also: the head light motor is the first thing that wants to jump back to power when I hook up the battery....what do you think....I'm going to disconnect the head light motor this AM and see if there is still a draw on the battery. Thanks for the help on this guys...we all know what fun it is to work on Corvettes  :cuss :mad :cry :cry Thanks, Larry
The head light is diconnected.... with the key....In the run..not running mode...............I have check gauges...with a battery symbol showing   What to check next? Would a bad door lock solinoid be a drain...I thought they just failed and that was it. The drivers door did not lock on Friday morning with the PKE Ideas? Thanks,Larry :(
if motor spins then it isnt the motor but the plastic bushings inside motor gear that you need to replace.a new gear and bushings cost 56 bucks from ecklers.if bushings are bad then uit lets the motor keep spinning.in my case the light would only sometimes work.found motor fried and replaced.got good deal at 146 for new motor assy.
