Default Nitto Tire Questions

Could someone who runs the 555 Extreme Series give me some feed back on tire noise. Seems like they are a popular choice but we all have different driving styles and I am not an AutoXer. I like to drive aggressively every once in a while but also use my car for touring. I'm looking for a tire that sticks when you want it to but is somewhat quite on the highways. At least something somewhere between. To the west of me is Tire Discount and they handle the Nitto's and to the east is TireRack. Both are within 45 minute drives and I'm looking for something handled by either of these stores. It is starting to get limited on tires that fit factory sizes for these C4's.

I recently installed the Nitto 555's on my 86. The 315 35 17 tire selection is very limited. They handle well and are very quiet.

I have the 555's on my 1985, with ZR 1 wheels, 315 x 35 17 in back, on 17 x 10's, and 275 x 40 on 17 x 9.5 on fronts.
I purchase the set used, from another member with about 5k of miles on them.

I can say they are much quieter then the Gatorbacks that it had. They handle well, and are great when driving in a spirited fashion. I too do not autox. Just a weekend fun car, but I enjoy driving and do push it a bit. Not sure how they will wear in the long run, but I have read they are pretty good. I think for their cost, they are a pretty good value.

Mine are fairly quiet. I have about 25K on mine and still have well over 50% tread remaining as well.

The quietness was the first thing I noticed when I got mine. They stick pretty well, and are great looking as a bonus.

I have a fairly new set on my 84, and I like them. The only issue I ever had was having them break loose on a wet road once, but I attribute most of that to driver enthusiasm. Dave
