Read this post ... and the thread WW7 links to.
Anything except WW7's advice is going to run a high risk of the need for a tune -- to return AFR to proper spec. That's because of differences in flow and calibration.
He's done as much research as anyone on the subject.

Thanks Greggpenn, My -87 coupe has a 383 stroker from TPIS in Minesota and has been fine with the original bosch sensor with removed screens...until the wire broke. I was actually able to solder the wire back once ..and it worked ..but only for some weeks and it broke again.
There must be a lot of theese MAF-s out there as its the same for camaros and pontiac firebird from what I read!
Must find one used Bosch then ...car sits in garage !!
This one below may be your best bet, the guy has almost 4000 sales with 100% satisfaction so he's no "rip off".... Real good price....If you look at the 2nd picture on his page, the picture of the bottom of the sensor where the model number is , you can see its a factory sealed unit that hasn't been rebuilt yet. You can tell because the bead of silicon around the perimeter of the panel is perfectly smooth, if it was a remanufactored unit the silicon would be reapplied very messy, uneven and not smooth at all... You don't want a rebuilt unit, trust me....
