Are you running a stock TPI intake and exhaust manifolds? That is your bottle neck if you are. My 88 with headers, duals and free mods made 245/328 at the wheels. You sound at least 75 hp lower than I would expect.

Did they monitor your Air/fuel ratio with a wideband O2 sensor? It's quite possible the fuel curve is way off at WOT.

If thats the CC flat tappet hyd cam, your cam is too weak. You should upgrade to a roller cam a little more aggressive.

Hey fastguy...your running a roller cam, don't forget. The TPI intake is good for well over 300 HP.

Drive is the proper gear to be in because of the 1:1 ratio. Virtually 100% of dyno runs are brought up to ~ 2,500 rpm to ~ 3,000 rpm in drive (or fourth in a manual trans) and then a quick roll on of the throttle.

Its really too bad they didn't hook up some diagnostics. Outside of any mechanical ills you are likely to find malfuncioning sensor(s) or a totally whack computer program.

Best of luck,

Is your chip stock? I would think you need some custom programming with you setup.

What about your injectors?

The TPI intake is good for well over 300 HP.
But the stock heads aren't. The 86/87 heads are good for about 300 untouched, and the 88-91 heads are good for about 350 untouched.

p.s.

If he has the stock 85 heads on there, those are complete junk for the most part. Also the stock manifolds will absolutely kill a 383s power.

He should still have over 215 HP. A stock Vette has 200 RWHP , easily.

Wow dude, that's low HP, I got 210 HP on a crossfire with just 1.6 RR's and an Xram. Are stock injectors 19# or 24#, I think ya need more injector. I'm running 24# but will change to 30# sometime soon. :yesnod:

If you can find a way to post your dyno graphs that will help a lot. BTW it's also possible for the dyno to not be calibrated properly.

DOn't mean to be rude, but are you sure you have a 383? Did you built it yourself or did you buy the car and the previous owner told you it was a 383? Don't laugh, this actually happens all the time! Because your number would be almost dead on if you didn't have that 383.

Just curious.
