MAT sensor relocation
Has anybody replaced the rear power coupler and installed a "Relocation Kit"? My '96 has a damaged stock coupler, so I was going to replace it with an aftermarket (smooth) one. According to "Corvette Central" the kit is neccessary, and a hole should be drilled in the air filter housing. The catch is, the car has an SLP cold air intake on it. Can the MAT sensor be relocated on it? Any opinions would be appreciated!!

The idea is to get a taste of the air going in the engine for combustion, so the logical place is in the air filter box or duct at a place where its not heat-soaked and sending false data to the ecm....
Mines in the filter box.

after slowing down and taking the time to start my brain before putting my fingers in gear.,...
my term of "false data" ...is, FALSE. in this application at least.
the MAT measures the temp of air thats actually entering the combustion chamber. So, it (ecm) needs to know the temp of that air thats entering and if it is heated by the intake, so be it. Thats the temp of the air that the ECM needs to know..not the ambient temp or the temp in Boston...
The REAL purpose of relocating the MAT is to get cooler air readings and CREATE FALSE data for the ecm to maybe get a little bump in fuel to go with the cooler air the ECM is seeing from the new MAT location...
