Default Heated 02's need wirring help

OK so I reed all the how to threads but I really suck when it comes to wiring. I have heard about going to a fan wire and a smog pump wire. I have a 92 and all the places I check for 12v it's either always hot or only reading in millivolts? Can someone who's done this give me specifics on the wire to look for and location, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. Is tapping into the fuse panel an option? I see they sell plug-in connectors to add an extra fused source without any splicing.

First off are you sure you NEED a heated O2 sensor?? You could simply try the old O2 sensor and see if the ECM goes into and stays in closed loop at idle.

If so, what is the power requirement of the one you intend to install?

I would install a relay & fuse that taps into the battery power and use any switched source of power to energize the relay which then would apply power to the O2 sensor.

Casper electronics kit for conversion. Don't need to use a relay. Very low amp draw. I did wire in a 5 amp fuse. You can tap off the switched power that feeds a relay. Looks factory when installed.

thanks guys but I already have the wiring and O2's. What I really need is suggestions (specific) on where to find the 12V switched source.

I have an earlier year, but the ECM's relay drive circuit to most under hood relays should be 12v.

Find the AIR pump under the hood, drivers side, directly under the headlight. The connector going into it has a switched power, it's the red (orange?) wire with a black stripe. You can test it to make sure but that is where I found switched power for my heated 02's on my 93. Hope that helps.

I just installed one a few days ago. I used the relay on the driver side wheel well. Once ran you can't even see the wires.
