won't hold overdrive when hot?
boy this trans is driving me nuts. ok i put a new o/d switch in and it helped but now when i drive about 50 or so miles and get the car really hot the overdrive will disingage then engage over and over until it cools down and by the way the o/d light comes on & off with the overdrive it is an 87 4+3 could it be a bad relay? or ecm? :confused: :cry by the way it works fine until it gets hot . also just changed fluid & filter

Mine would shift in and out of lock out between 53 and 65 mph untill I had the lock out solinoid replaced, and the pressure switch replaced. I also had a transgo kit installed at the same time, about $180.00. That all fixed mine, all valve body stuff. I was also told by another shop that the trany was fried and had to be rebuilt for $1700. This was, as I have found out, BS. I also lost overdrive earlier and the valve was stuck on that too. If I had a competent shop fix it the first time (no overdrive)I would have saved time and money.
