The other day I saw a post about a hidden unused connector under the center console that has a switch 12 volt source and a constant 12 volt source.
I've never heard this before. Is this something my 91 would have? I'm about to start installing some PLX Device sensors in the ABS controller storage bin and need a handy switched 12 volt source.
On my 1992 there were 3 wires together near the rear of the console tucked neatly out of sight. They were ground, + 12 V and + 12 V switched. They are there so you can power a couple of accessories. I do not know if a 1991 has them. They were shown on my wiring diagrams in the FSM.
Yes, you should find 12V in the console on a '91. I don't recall there being a switched on though. If there is someone will be by soon to confirm.
If you have an owners manual I believe that it will mention the accessory "pigtail" in the console area if in fact it's there. I believe I recall seeing it in a later owners manual.
My 95 Owners manual and also FSM shows them. As mentioned 12 Volts, 12 Volts switched and Ground. The max current draw allowed is 10 amps per owners manual and FSM.
