When I carbed my 84, I used the overdrive switch on the console as a manual switch for the tcc. I used the converter lockup as a 5th gear on the freeway. Remember to turn it off when coming to a stop. If you do it right, the "overdrive" light on the console will light up when the converter is locked up.

I now have a 4l60e but I wired my 700r4 using the diagrams in the factory service manual. If I remember right, there was a 4 pin connector going to top of the tranny. Of these, one was ground and the other hot for the solenoid. Just connect onto those.

sorry what i meant was the wires for the VSS the torque converter i beleive is now locking up properly. fixed the wipers and the heater. the cooling fan wired to a switch. a/c firewall delete. and inline fuel pump wired up where the old filter was. the intak pump removed and a filter and hose to lengthen it enough to drop it into the fuel tank. only thing left is to get it back together and get the VSS wired up
