superram or lt1-l98 conversion intake for my setup?
Right now I have a 355 with full bolt ons, LT headers full 3" exhaust no cats, the motor is a blue printed rebuild about 10k ago. Has a comp cam 212-218, 480s lift 110 lobe. And stock cast iron heads. But with that said I have new 195cc AFR eliminator heads and a custom ground comp cams 224-230, 570s lift112 lobe cam with new ls7 lifters, 30lb or 32lb injectors, 1.6 full roller rockers all sitting waiting to be installed. I was planing on fully porting my superram but I know that even that will be holding me back some. Is the mid-high end you gain with the lt1 setup worth the low-mid I would loose with the SR? The cam will pull to 6-6500 rpm but not sure I want to be spinning the motor to that very often.
I just swapped my Extrude Honed SuperRam for a Miniram. The SuperRam is a great manifold. My 84 used to be a street/strip car with a 383 and then a 406. The torque curve was fantastic with a SuperRam and I would shift at 6600 rpm (same as the Mini) at the track. Low end would would give me 1.40 60's and still trap at 128. The mini gives up some low end grunt (needed to loosen the converter) but gains by 2 mph up top. I would definitely choose the SuperRam if I were you
I have both setups the SR and the LT1 Conversion intake. The SR is not ported, but with the setup I had at one time, the LT1 had more ET and MPH but for me it was a PITA to drive daily. I ended up pulling the cam out and going back to the SR. But as soon as i heal for open heart surgery I'm going to put a LQ4 in the car.

I'm running 3.73 gears with a yank 2600 stall now. With my setup now its a total dog on the freeway.... Rpms are high and has no power. I feel if I had a stock stall it would be more fun with this setup now. Seems like I pass up a lot of the low end fun. I'm running 1.9s 60' but only 88-92mph. Keep in mind this is a 3800+lb truck.
Built 700r4 but I could not get the converter to lock up so I rewired it so it locks once I shift into 4th. It works but Rpms get high fast in 3rd. I need to run a vaccume lockup kit as I'm told that will help and allow the converter to lockup when cruzing around. If I ever blow it up I have told myself ill do a t-shirt56 6spd swap. The truck started as a v6 5spd so I have the clutch peddle I can put back in.
