I have been having erratic temp readings and also oil pressure readings. I thought maybe the digi dash was the problem, even tho it was just repaired by Jim at vettesport a few months ago. However when I unplug the sensors and ground them per Jim's instruction they indicate that the dash is working properly.
Question is where do I look next? Does the sensor for the temp gauge go directly to the gauge or does it go to the ECM, also same question for the oil pressure sensor. Doesn't seem likely that both these sensors went bad at the same time. Not too good on electrical problems so try to make it as simple as possible for me.
If the gauges indicate they are working by direct grounding then that points straight to the sensor itself. Temp sensor is by the dip stick and the OP sensor in behind left side head toward center...that's on a "tree" with the OP switch.
You can try the clean the connectors and tabs on the sensor AND find the harness grounds and clean those as well. Good grounds are key to the stable operation of ANY dash gauges and the ECM performance. Your FSM will show you the location of all the grounds that you need to clean and tighten.
