Neglected 89 Corvette
I'm new to this forum and have a serious problem, and I hope you can help.
Car has been sitting for 5 years. When driving car 3-4 miles it will shut down shortly after operating temperatures. Former owner changed computer thinking that was the issue. 4 injectors read approx 16 ohms and the others between 5-10 ohms. Injector resistance values drop slightly with rise in engine temp.
The car runs well when cold. I checked the computer ground and it appears to be ok and secure. I do not even know if this is the correct computer. The computer number is 7-7165 and the DC code is 0310ZN. My local Chevy dealer told me the prom is correct, but the computer is a remanufactured unit and they weren't familiar with it.
Fuel pressure is good. Spark is good.
Note: I pulled the computer out and the tag on it cautioned stating any resistance value less than 20 ohms will fry the computer. Could that be a problem and has anyone heard of that?
HELP
but
those injectors are fubar
if they are OE they are way overdue to be changed. if i remember right you can use the ford orange 19lb injectors on a stock L98 since they flow roughly 21lbs/hr at GM fuel pressure
used sets are 50-60 bucks on ebay
