Default I think I broke something..

I have a 93 LT1 6 spd. I got on it pretty good this morning and I think I broke something, it is a little tough to pinpoint, becuase it is still drivable. When I put it into 6th gear, it really started lugging and clunking, normally I can be in 6th at 1500-2000rpm, give it some load and it may be slow, but it doesnt lug. Here are some of my observations:
  1. It still seems to idle fine, but the tach has a sinusoidal bounce to it. It moves about an 1/8 in on about 1 second period. I dont think it ever did this before
  2. The rpms seems to go higher when accelerating in the lower gears to come up to speed, almost like I lost a couple cylinders, but then seems fine in 4th/5th.
  3. I usually take turns in third, but get some lugging now. Actually pretty much anytime I am under 2k rpm and then give it some gas, I get lugging/clunking.

Basically, it seems a little under powered but still shifts fine and lugs anytime I am under 2k. It never did this before. I used to be able to cruise the back roads in high gears, mostly coasting give it a little gas when needed, and only downshift when I need more power or acceleration. I cant really do that now. I think the engine is fine, but havent hooked up the datalogger yet. What are the symptoms of a slipping clutch? What about U-joints? I really suspect the u joints with the clunking, but the tach bouncing is throwing me for a loop. I can still drive the car around, so any guidance to narrow it down would be appreciated. Thanks
