Default Half Shafts

I'm replacing the Universal joints on the drive shaft. Got to looking at the half shafts as well. Is there enough room to drop those half shafts if I just remove the 2 ear straps on each end of the shaft?

You have to undo something in order to be able to lever the spindle out far enough to get the HS free
Some undo the camber arm inner bracket from the diff head ( instead of the arm from the bracket as shown ) so as not to change the wheel alignment

Just did mine on my 84'. Yes its best to remove the strut, This will allow the tire to swing out and let you re=install the half shaft. I had to use a piece of 2x4 that kept the tire pushed all the way out to make it easier because I was working my myself on my back under jack stands.Just mark the bolt and washer assembly [the one with the off center hole] and reinstall it in the same position. Also buy the U joints from NAPA, with the zerk, Their only a couple bucks more, but good ones!
