Set about replacing all the bushings in the rear suspension of my 89 coupe and came to the strut rods and find that the inside bushing is different than the outside bushing. Is this normal,I've owned the car for 12 years and as far as I know the bushings are orginal. I bought what I thought was a complete set and have 2 bushings left that don't go anywhere. Thoughts??
Thanks

I purchased a set of bushings for my 85. I have some that seem to go nowhere. I think they package the bushings to accommodate all years from 84-96. It's probably cheaper than trying to be specific to each year.
If you're talking about the struts that run transversely and anchor in the middle of the rear chassis, as I recall that inner bushing is intergal with the strut itself while the outer screws in and out to allow for adjustment and is replaceable.

Huh?! The rubber bushings do not screw in. The camber is adjusted by turning the bolt at the diff end.

On 1984-1989 cars the strut rod bushings are the same size at both ends.On 1990-1996 cars the bushing at the cam adjuster end was larger. If you buy the Energy Suspension or Prothane full kit, both sets of bushings are included.
