O2 sensor broke..
I have a Bosch O2 sensor standing by to replace the one that's just hanging down by it's wire.
What I see on the exhaust is a round hole, with a hex bolt
Do I assume correctly that what is left in the pipe is the body of the old sensor, and I need to crank on the hex to get her out?
Thanks,
Rich
ps. sorry for no pic!

If access to the O2 hex is limited, this socket works really well:
If access is not a problem, you can use the deep wall socket:
Check for the correct socket size..... my '92 needed 7/8 ..... sensors came with anti-seize applied.
Caution: keep the sensor tip clean.

PB may not be necessary, but can't hurt. Just changed my originals on my '92 without even a breaker bar.
You won't need the deep socket to remove the broken sensor, but you will to install the new sensor.

A little heat will make the old one come out easy. I usually run the car for 2 or 3 minutes.

I use the box end of a combination wrench. Just thread the connector and wire through the box and go at it.
