84 crossfire vapor lock?
First of all, this is my first time in these forums and I like to say hi :seeya .I own a 84 corvette with crossfire fuel injection and live in Las Vegas where it gets really hot in the summer time.The last two weeks of last summer, if I drive more than 20 minutes during the day, the idle would change and want to stall. I'd step on the gas and it would not want to go. After the two weeks of last summer it went away, but it came back this summer. I'm not sure but I think it's vapor lock :mad .I have an all alliminum racing radiator ($500) and the hottest it gets is 190 so I know that overheating is not the problem. If anyone has had the same problem please let me know. I think you can fix vapor lock by replacing the fuel pump but I'm not sure. PLEASE HELP!!!

You can check your fuel pressure and volume. A modern EFI car doesn't have the potential to vapor lock unless something is very wrong. You would have to be way down on fuel pressure and wrap the fuel line around the exhaust pipes a few time to get vapor lock. Since you seem to have decent performance in moderate temetures, I doubt that the pump is the cause of your problems. Spec on the '84 is 9-13 lbs of fuel pressure. Good luck.
