Started the car and ran it around a bit, ac was on was running great and then I noticed the water temp gauge was pinned to the left WTF? After all of that and the water temp is now as hot as it can get, anyone care to guess what I may have done wrong? There are no leaks anywhere and the throttle body is also real hot to the touch as well as the metal on the expansion tank. I do hear some perculating like my moms old coffee pot!
The OPs sig says a 96 Corvette so an LT1 and they are a pita to get all the air out. But I do wonder about the digital gauge reading 194 (pretty much normal) and the analog guage showing full hot.

You are correct it is a 1996 vert. Based on a youtube I watched another c4 owner had the same issue, the needle is pinned to the right showing it is running very hot but the digital shows 194 degrees. Now to the air how do you get that out of the system or will it work its way out?

Yes it will... but you need to keep the recovery tank level above the "Cold" line When cooled off, and run the engine through at least 3 thermal cycles. During the initial fill I open my bleeder screw and allow as much air as possible to escape, this gets quite a bit of it. The reason the Anolog was pegged is because there was a but load of air in the heads, this will work it's way to the surge tank, and on to the Recovery tank each time you run a Complete Thermal Cycle... You should be just fine!
Thanks for the tips everyone, I did the air release by way of the thermostat housing relief valve, it took 5 thermal cycles but finally everything works perfect.
