Where are the numbers that identify the ratio, imprinted on an '85 corvette rear? It's out of the car, so I can't check the car. It was from a stick-shift car!
Thanks
Post all of the STAMPED numbers off of the carrier assy. Somewhere in that mess of numbers there should be a Dana "bill of material" number. I can "decode" most of the '91 and older diffs.
Obviously, cast numbers aren't going to help determine a ratio. I can guide you to as where to find the numbers on a solid (straight) Dana axle assy, but I don't know where they are located on an ICA assembly. My guess, is that they are on a flat, machined, surface, maybe not. On a solid axle it's stamped into the axle tube. They're there. You may have to scrape and wire brush, but despite the claims of many before you, I haven't see the axle, yet, that Dana missed stamping. Good luck.
Unfortunately...cannot check cover since rear is out of car and car is long gone.
Does anybody know SPECIFICALLY where the stamped #'s would be on the rear??
