Went and checked out a 92 vert and found a problem with the lights.
It starts and runs fine however the turn signal lights start to flash and then go out after about 10 to 15 minutes. The center display flashes if you activate the right turn signal.
No sure if it is within the security system as the horn does not blow even though it does when you push the horn button.
Additionally, there is a red LED at the top of the left flairing near the A/C vent. There is not one my 92 coupe so I am wondering if it is aftermarket system.
It has 43k on it and is in really great condition except for the lights. Considering buying it for the wife so that she will have her own. Any help would be appreciated.
Your wife might really appreciate it if the seller made the vette operational, or adjusted the selling price so you could have all
the problems fixed.
Just got back from taking another look. Told him that I was not willing to pay the 10k that he wanted due to not knowing the extent of the electric problem but that I would buy it if he got it corrected.
He declined to fix it so I declined to buy it. I gave him my phone number in case he reconsidered.
It is really clean otherwise and is white with red interior, matching my 92 coupe.
There are more out there to find. He may change his mind and fix it.
I doubt that anyone will buy that vette with the existing conditions,
unless they understand and have the ability to fix the problems.
In his opinion, the seller may think the vette is worth much more than he is asking,
and is already allowing a price reduction for the buyer to fix the problems.
My guess is that the seller will be calling you with a reduced price.
The seller is trying to make HIS problem YOUR problem. Don't let him do that. This is the kind of electrical mystery that you will either pay a shop hundreds of dolalrs or more to daignose at their measured hourly rate, or you will spend days or weeks of spare time diagnosing and repairing. Why subject yourself to that?
I turned down several C4 cars before I found one with low miles and no known problems, and I'm glad I did.

I agree with what you are saying. There is no need to buy a project car unless that is what you want.
I purchased the 92 coupe that I have with minor projects as I could DIY on them. A second C4 is needed in order to keep harmony in the family.
