I remember seeing something about sets of control arms for sale somewhere....with and w/o balljoints.
I need a pair of lowers for the '87m w/joints if possible.
Anyone know or remember who is selling some new or reman?
Corvette Recyclers only has 89 & up and the ad says out of stock...
any tips of sets or even singles would be appreciated. Can't get a decent alignment until I replace the RF lower arm...
so I figer I'll do L & R lower and be done with that for awhile.
I'd think the only option would to be buy a pair of used "close" or from a reliable source, do the ball joints and bushings then install. That would eliminate the tear-down and hustling through the replacement of them and the hustle of the reinstall to eliminate the down time.
You might try "indiannavette" - did Morrison ever do anything prior to '88? If he did maybe there's some stuff there with him. Ralph would be my first contact I believe!
Think i know who youre talking about.
Guy that owns my old Z just bought a set
See if I can find his info. They have more but once they are gone they are gone.

That was Corvette Recycling and they were "late model" control arms that were part of a mass buy-out of Shelby. OP is looking for "early"!!

yep...
i think that post you all are talkin about was for some later model that were for a GREAT price...seems like $200 sumthing for a pair..
Thats what I'm lookin for, just in 87 style.
No, just wanted a set with upgraded bushings and new joints ready to drop in so I did not have to keep the car "downed" anylonger than I had to. I like to take it apart and put it back together with new. Not WAIT. That's when the trouble starts....having to WAIT for parts or service. That way, I end up with a spare set that can be rebuilt and ready to drop in should the need ever arise.
I may end up buying the top adjustable type for 225 ea and a bottom used set to rebuild and make ready. I dunno yet...still researching the options.
This is what happens when I have to wait for parts. Seriously, replacing the ball joints is not time consuming. I dropped my arms and ball joints off at a clutch and brake shop and got them back an hour later. Removing and installing poly bushings is a 10 minute job. It's the upper arm bushings that are challenging.
