Hi guys. Not sure if anyone is still curious about my 15 degree build.Iwork on it when have time and machine shop has a lot of race engines on the go.Good thing im not in rush.I did get my headers built and they fit.NOT bad 1 7/8 to 2 inch, wow tight.I ORDERD my seats and fire suppression systm, still fuel cell and other safty equip.Still have not received chasis bar yet.Ill have to call DRM and see whats up.Randy is real friendly guy,but very busy.IM not sure what I have missed.I have a list.Still have not pick out race tires and shocks.I have bars.We had an autocross in regina acouple of weeks ago.Five races, two days back to back.31 cars showed up from b.c to m.b.It made me want to get on the track ounce again.
Well QA1 shocks are on order now. They are dual adjust.Hope I chose well as they are not cheap.Cam has showed up,will get specs from the builder and post next time.Thats all for now on the c4.I did do the carb my c3 this week.I bought pail of kleanflow dunk, but got the green stuff,so I would not have to leave my house for a week till the smell cleared. It cleaned the carb in a couple of hours, not bad.I was impressed.JOHN
I built the headers.I phoned JUDY STAHL her husban was big time racer long ago and has a header shop.THEY make a drag race header kit,for a 15degree head chevy corvette that will not work on the street,or road race car.But does make a excellent starting point to make your own.It costs around 500.00 for the kit.Plan on around 18 hours to build. They are 1 7/8 to 2" primary with 3 1/2" collector. As far as the came goes all my builder will let me say is around 700" lift and around 304 dur.The cam was custom ground to his specs.Top secret I guess HA HA.Anyway I have finished the intake, which started life as a sheet aluminum intake built by a guy who builds protock manifolds. It was for an 8" deck block,so I cut it in half, and rewelded it to fit a 9" deck.Cut hole for a dist.and cut out both ends.Built new ends to fit the dist.,and to mount throttle body.Made a rounded top to cover it all.It stands 9 1/2" tall which it is O.K. since I lowered the engine in car last time I made tunnel ram for my 23 degree motor.Next stop ,prep motor ready for dyno. Thanks for the info. The cam sounds really big, a 304 advertised duration. Whats your RPM limit? My cam is Intake @.50= 250, advertised 278, Exhaust @.50= 256, advertised 284, on the engine dyno it was still making horsepower at 7500 RPM. I made the 7500 RPM while building the motor, I just don't like high reviving engines. Should be interesting to see the powerband of your engine.
7500 RPM sounds cool. What was the torque at?Mine is supposed to power through a 3500 RPM TO 7500 RPM Range.I guess we"ll see.Oh ya forgot to mention welding and drilling injector bores in intake.Holley still makes injector O'ring style bores, that you can weld on.It seems I shop there a lot.By for now JOHN.

Max torque was 661 ft.lbs. at 5500 RPM
Torque was over 500 ft.lbs. at 3000 RPM
Horsepower 763 at 7500 RPM, did not fall off yet, don't know if that was the max horsepower. Since this is a street car I wanted a torque monster. I was trying to reach 700 ft.lbs. of torque.
