does anyone else have a problem with that top door panel piece.............
coming loose? Im reffering to that long vinyl piece that runs the length of the door on the inside. On both doors mine have come loose at the end towards the door handle. Anyone else have this problem? What is the best way to fix it?

I had that problem in my '87 on the drivers side. Never did figure out how to fix it correctly. You can get new door panels though reasonably inexpensively through MAD, or Ecklers.

Not the greatest of designs, but, what is going on is that there are plastic studs with a nut that holds it into place. After time the plastic stud breaks off. A Fix? replace the strip at about $58 each. Ecklers has them with metal studs and nut. Which should hold up longer. I believe every one has this problems at some time or another if they are driving the car. Good luck with your project, except for the outragious price for the part its an easy repair. The new strip does not come with the vent louver.

Hey,
I went to a good Corvette shop with the same problem. They told me the same thing as stated above, but offered this opton as well. They just drilled a small hole at the top of the door and ran a long metal screw that is black and match's my interior. Total cost no charge. Does it look perfect, no. Does work YES.
I don't even notice the screw anymore, but I door notice the door panel stays on :D :D

I used Epoxy, worked good.
