Default Cam Question

I have a 90 Z51 and the car has a zz9 cam, longtubes, and decated exhaust, it also has the old school tpis bigmouth base, and matching large runners, plus a 52mm TB, and ported stock heads. I changing my combo up. I am instaling the tpis mini ram, and gmpp fast burn heads with duel valve springs, I'm trying to decide what cam to go with I'm looking for good mid to highend power. The bottom end has been balanced but is running the stock style pistons ie same valve reliefs. What would be agood choice for a cam. And I dont want to cut the pistons. Any thoughts? And thank you for the input.

I would just stick with the ZZ9. With the mini ram it should peak around ~5800 rpms, and pull 6200 rpms pretty easy. How high do you want to rev it?

The ZZ9 cam is a very nice choice... where do you think your going to pull 6500 RPM's
A wide open highway??? And you better beef up that bottom end!! if you think you are gonna pull in that range for long!!! Compression would also work out better with that ZZ9 cam

Check out Comp Cams 503. Depending on the flow of your heads it will peak at 6000-6200 rpms and pull smoothly to 6500 rpms.

The Comp 08-503-8 is a good cam choice, but must be tuned by a competent programmer. A custom combination such as this will need modified fuel, and spark maps. Calling someone and getting a single chip in the mail is not the answer. Datalogging is needed to assure that programming is optimized for new build to produce as much power as possible.
