I have a 1990 convertible, the ac is ice cold, but doesnt blow out hard from the dash. Is this normal? It blows out pretty nice on my feet thought when I set that.
Get yourself a Factory Service Manual off of eBay if you don't already have one.
The book will have the vacuum diagram and show you how all of the doors work. You could possibly have a door that isn't working right due to a vacuum leak, or it could be a blower motor issue.
The FSM will give you lots of troubleshooting tips.
Thank you I will definitely order one. I have never been the type to read the manual, but my god, this thing has so many little features. It took me 3 hours to figure out how to put the top down. Lol
Buy the book(s),. NOT the cheapo $19.95 generic repair manual, buy the REAL GM Factory Service Manual. Its 2 books, with the detail that will walk you thru ANY problem and how to fix it.
It will pay for itself in the first month. Fleabay has them used for about $75 or new for $100 or more. There is a link here somewhere.
a/c fan....if its elect a/c system, could be the programmer or a vac line leaking. You need to know if the vents are operating or if this is the fan not blowing high speed. Before doing anything else check the vac lines entering the cabin and then look under the dash.
If those are intact and you are sure the vents change when directed, find out if the fan motor is changing speeds or not. That may be a control problem or a motor problem. The FSM will take you thru the process without wasting money on guessing.
