Hi all,
I recently purchased a 1995 convertible and have the following issue: at low speed while braking (right before vehicle comes to a stop), randomly the ABS system will activate. What could be causing this, and what is the fix? It doesn't do it all the time, just randomly. The dash light will come on and the brakes do the normal ABS vibration feeling. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! Jim
most likely a wheel sensor, could be just needing cleaned, but more likely requiring to be replaced, with the right scan tool you can interrogate the abs to tell you which sensor is faulty, but occasionally, and especially on 4 channel abs, you can feel which wheel is triggering, ie releasing the brakes, changing the sensor is not difficult, but on occasion especially on older cars the sensor can be seized in the hub and can require extra effort to remove the sensor.
