Default LT1 Injectors

What size fuel injectors do the LT1's have? and how much horsepower can they support?

They are 24lb injectors. As far as how much horsepower? Depends on who you ask, who is doing your tuning etc. I seen they are good to 400hp
in most cases.

I believe they were 22# in 92 & 93, then 24# 94-96. I used to have a formula for calcualting hp to injector #, but it's just an estimate, and bigger is always better. If you're staying N/A and under 500hp at crank, 30# should be good. If you have a power adder or nitrous, you are going to need bigger probably. I've seen some guys with blowers running 46# injectors. That's a lot of gas!

Glock, I am planning to have my heads ported and run a LT4 hotcam. I was just wondering if I needed to change injectors.

FYI: My 2001 Ford Lightning came stock with 42lb injectors.

You can probably get away with the 24#. I have 30# in mine because of the 383. The cam and head work really doesn't cause the engine to need that much more fuel. Unless you're running a big cam.

Yeah, your lightning is blown, that's why i needs the 42 :chevy :p:

I think you should be fine also, if you have alot of miles or something you may want to replace them. I am going with a bigger cam than the hotcam so I am going to 30#'s plus I plan on a 383-396 in the future sometime!

Hey Mike, what do those GM boys think of you driving your Ford to work?

Our parking lot is full of GM trucks, so of course a bright red Ford Lightning stands out like a sore thumb. A get harassed a little, but it is all in fun. I've always been a GM man until I drove this truck, it has massive torque.
