Default 1987 starting problems

Have begun to have starting problems. Engine turns, smell fuel but will not start. It will not start for a day or two, then will start every time for a few days and then nothing again. Over the last few months this has gotten worse. Any thoughts.

Could be a million different things! When's the last time she had a tune up? Plugs, wires, cap and rotor, air filter, fuel filter.

You shouldn't be smelling fuel unless you have a leak, which is bad!

How old are your fuel injectors? You should test them or have them tested!

Remove the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator and turn on the ignition. No fuel should come out of the FPR.

If fuel does come out then the FPR diaphragm is ruptured. Mine started a fire when it ruptured, so check/fix this ASAP.

Engine bay , the exhaust........??????

Checked the simple things like spark at the plugs?
Pulled the plugs to see if they are wet ( no spark ) or dry ( no fuel )
