Wanted to know the best exhaust set-up for an 88 Vette. I want that deep rumbling sound. A buddy told me I needed the Flowmaster 44 mufflers with an x-pipe. What do you guys think? This is my first Vette and I love this forum!!!
The flowmasters will drone, a lot of people, including myself run muffler eliminators, and the sound is nice with little to no drone.
Can you link me to a setup you have?
I was looking at 1984-1991 Corvette Stainless Steel Quad Power Mufflers part #627-459 $299.99 out of the Mid America Motorworks Catalog. Wanted to have those at the end of a custom, true dual exhaust/headers setup with maybe a X-pipe.
Corsa's! everytime..used to have eliminators but they were just NOISE! Corsa's will give you a nice powerful "in control" sound, is it stick or auto ?, mine is six speed and I just work her up through the gears, drop into 5th, and cruising around 40/45 through town will give a rumble that I can gaurentee will turn heads! get on the gas and you could be on the race track!

Thx!!! It's an automatic. Which Corsa's would I need?

doesn't matter, the engines are what counts! all I meant was it sounds nice when you can control what gear you want to be in, makes a lot of difference to the "soundtrack"! , bear in mind though, Corsa's aint cheap! but worth every penny... there are cheaper alternatives but if you want all the best sounds (and looks) and still hold a conversation its the only way to go!

If you want chambered pipes, Allen's has a nice set. If you don't care about chambered pipe just go to your local muffler shop and have them make you some elims.
