I broke a bolt in half in the egr pipe( the part that is attached to the headers) so I drilled a hole thru it and bought a extracting kit, which the extracting screw broke inside the broken bolt. I've tried drilling another hole, but due to the hardened ext. screw, the drill won't drill thru. would buying a certain drill bit work or does anybody have any ideas.
I think I'm on a string of bad luck when it comes to putting my Vette back on the road.
a flush break is where the washer comes in,
the washer attempts to isolate any fusion to the surrounding metal (hole).
the idea is to bond to the stud through/with the center of the washer.
this is often successful, but it could of course make more of a mess as well
a good muffler shop probably does this trick every other day!
welding to the easy-out is another story though!
