Default Transmission identification

Hello,

I just received the rebuild kit that I ordered for my 700R4 transmission, and I noticed that the body valve gaskets don't match with the old ones.

I have explicitly ordered a kit for a 700R4 1984 transmission, but in the notice they only talk about 4L60E 1993-2000 and 2001-Up transmissions. I don't know if what they sent me is supposed to match with mine or not, so I am wondering if I correctly identified my own transmission?!!

I attach a picture of body valve separator plate. Can anybody confirm that it is from a 700R4?

That separator plate is for an early version 700r4 (prior to 1987). The later versions have an auxiliary valve body in the upper left corner, but yours does not have the holes for that.

The 4L60E is the electronic version of the 700r4 and is VERY different.

What brand and part number did you buy? There's generally 3 kits 82-84, 85-87E, 87L-93. There are more application specific "master kits" and much could depend on branding.

I purchased the "700R4 1982 -1992 Master Kit, combo kit" from ALTO on the following website:
http://www.transmissioncenter.net/st...build_kits.htm

They replied to my message and said they are gonna check.

Your invoice or package doesn't have a part number on it? If the package doesn't and your invoice doesn't just get your money back and move on. If the package does confirm that matches the invoice and have them confirm. Internet orders for critical parts by the "novice" just doesn't generally work.
