crank pulley won't come loose after I took the bolts out. will wd40 overnight help or should I do something else. I hit it with a hammer but that doesn't help. it's a 94. I let it soak overnight but it still wont come off
I used PB Blaster and let it soak over night, squirt it down a couple of times through the night to get it good and soaked. I wouldn't hit it with a hammer any more than you already have. Tomorrow come at it from underneath the car, take a dowel and set it towards the center of the pulley from behind and tap it a couple times on each side, go up and spin the crank pulley a quarter turn and go below to tap it again, keep doing this until it falls off.

I had that problem on my '94. I had to use a 2 ft long 3/8" steel rod and a BFH from underneath. I don't think a dowel would have worked on mine. Do not hit it on the outside of the pulley. That is, outside of the rubber thing. Make sure you mark it so it goes on the same way it came off. Slather it with anti-seize compound before you put it back on.
PB Blaster=ok. A 50/50 mix of acetone & ATF=Best Ever! Here's the cold, hard facts from the April/May 2007 edition of Machinist's Workshop. They did a test of penetrating oils where they measured the force required to loosen rusty test devices. Buy the issue if you want to see how they did the test. The results reported were interesting. The lower the number of pounds the better.
I have used Tobasco to loosen every type of fastener, that I have encountered... thro a rusted screw into a dish of the hot sauce and wait for the reaction.
Ordered a pulley puller from amazon for 54.00. I'm sure it will be well worth that price. Will put it on and apply pressure slowly over time while spraying it with pb blaster. hope it works
This is how I did mine. There are slots in the inside hub that the puller jaws will fit in. The other key is disconnecting the power steering line from the rack to give the puller room to move. I had already tried the brass drift/hammer deal with no success whatsoever.
