It has been awhile since I posted any progress on my upgrade project so, I thought I list a few of the things I’ve done this past month or so. First up was a problem with a SES coming on every once in a while. The codes showed it to be lean on both banks and the FSM told me to look for leaks. While looking I ordered new injectors from Jon at FIC. I found a pinch and a leak at the ninety degree connector on my PCV valve. Replacing these took care of the SES problem and made the car run a lot better. Injectors arrived and I installed them. While in there I decided to replace the fuel regulator. I ended up stripping the torx head on the FPR mounting bolt it was so tight. I never did get it off so I bought a stainless steel fuel rail off of flebay and put the new FPR on it. I also replaced the spark plugs with NGK Iridium plugs. This turned into a five hour job just for the plugs. Here are some pics of the injector/fuel rail upgrade.
While in the engine compartment I replaced the air cleaner, fuel filter, belt tensioner, tensioner pulley, and the idler pulley. I also cleaned out the radiator area and installed some emergency hood releases. Of this project the fuel filter took the longest and was the hardest to do.
Next up was the passenger door panel being loose. I decided to try the L-Bracket fix and added a few extra touches while doing it. I added a small piece of rubber hose to the brackets to stop any rattle that they might add. I also drilled the door end where there used to be a screw in the earlier model and stuck a long panel plug in it to help hold the door from lifting up. This worked really well so far and no rattles or door movement since installing it. I also took apart and cleaned the Electronic Climate Control button assembly. Here are a few pics.
Next was the roof panel replacement. I decided to replace all the weather stripping with the softer (and more expensive) rubber. This was a very tedious job cleaning out the old rubber and glue. I did re-glue the new ones in with 3M adhesive and hope to never do this again. Once the new stripping was in I installed and aligned the new roof.
Finally I buffed the whole car with 105, 205, Klasse All-In-One, Klasse Seal and Shine, and finished it off with pinnicale wax. I am now done for the summer and have been enjoying the fruits of my labor. This fall I’ll work on sound deadening and a new stereo but for now I’m driving it.
Thanks for the reply's. It was a lot of work getting to this point but the car now looks and feels brand new. I just feel good getting in it and cruzin. Where ever I go people say how niece it looks and can't believe how old it is. This fall will be the last of the upgrades and then I'll try and maintain what I have. I have already started ordering the stuff for fall. The Rattle Trap sound deadening material arrived today and it weighs a ton. It should do a good job once it's installed. Next on the purchase list is an Alpine DVD head.

Thanks, really I am at the point of being able to install and remove the door panels in my sleep. Appreciate the tip.
