IIRC, they are screwed into the hood with torx [self-tapping] screws. Maybe 6/side?

Did you buy a car with the wells missing?

Early years were attached with T-30 M6.3 X 1.81 screws with a flanged head and j-nuts in the hood panel. 7 or 8 I think per side.

What year?

Later might have been riveted maybe don't recall.

A nut like this on the hood. Mounting is obvious if you have the nut.

I have a 95.I dont see any torx screws. It looks like it might be attached by plastic rivets. The reason I'm changing them is that the ones I have are full of road tar.If its rivets that I need what type to get?Ive never seen plastic ones.

My 94 has rivets, they look aluminum but suppose they could be stainless - not plastic.

The aluminum rivet is a GM 10125439 and those I believe are still available and used in '93 & '94. '95 and '96 used plastic which appear to be NLA from GM but there are plastic pop-rivets available most everywhere that would duplicate them. You should have no problems.

here's the type you're looking for:

Just "google" plastic pop-rivet to see images. Any dealer GM, FoMoCo, MOPAR imports all of them will be able to help you. Do you have any contacts in the body shop business? all of them will have also. A body shop supply house could help also.
