Default stainless fuel sender

I followed the tips to cleaning my fuel sender with no results...saw a thread where a guy posted a pic of a fuel sender from mid america.stainless.....so I got one...real nice...exact repica...fuel gage now working great... great unit...

I have one of those units. Nice.

I just found out a few days ago that it's not quite 100% accurate. I was showing two bars when I ran out of gas...

One weird thing I've noticed recently is that the fuel level seems to show higher when the fuel is hot (after running for a while). As I said earlier, I ran out of gas with two bars but it was only showing one bar the next day.

That has happened to me with the stock unit on my way to a meeting.
