My dad and I bought a wrecked 95 Camaro for the motor and tranny. We were able to extract a few other key peices off the car also. My question is with the rear end. I'm not sure what rear end the Camaro had, but if it is the 3.54 rear end, would that fit into my 92 Coupe? My 92 Coupe is an automatic.
I'd love to replace the rear end and wake up the low end a little. Is this rear end swap possible?
Do you mean the ring and pinion gears or the whole carrier?
I'm not sure what rear end is in the Camaro, but the Dana 36 in your '92 has a 7.875" ring gear.
If you are talking about mounting the entire rear axle, it can be done, but probably not worth the trouble. I like the IRS that we have, I would only go to a solid axle for serious drag racing.
Sorry about that. Its just the guts of the rear end...ring and pinion gears. I do not want to change the whole axle. We did experiment with these gears in my dads project Monte SS, but the stock axles were a hair short with the Camaro gears.
