Hi guy's, I'm looking t remove my air pump. What make is a good air pump delete. Has anyone eliminated the pully and used a smaller belt. What options do I have. I'm installing headers and removing cats.
As always thanks for helping

I was able to remove mine, and take as much apart as I could, then I beat the guts out with a big hammer, and screwdriver. (Til it was a pulley held by the case) Then put it back together, and put it back on. Now its just a pulley, and I kept the same belt. Not pretty like some, but much cheaper. $0 h

If you are going to delete your smog pump and it still working I swap my delete kit for your whole setup.

This one was just installed on my car before I got it, I would rather have a stock looking engine

BTW the stock belt works no need to down size on the belt, my belt tensioner was weak when I got the car, the tensioner caused all kinds of belt slippage, I tried an undersized belt it did nothing to help.

The tensioner was 30 bucks or so on amamzon

Know this. On my 85, I've had it deleted for 2 years now and I lost all the alternator housing bolts + alternator and the connector because I didnt make a bracket for the back of the alternator. It shook the bolts out fro. Driving and all broke. Just make sure you have something to brace the back of it if you put this on

There should be a brace already that attaches the alternator to the exhaust manifold which would be part of the stock set-up

All the braces should be kept in stock locations. A PO may have chucked the braces after an alternator or header install thinking it isnt a big deal. You get hardware to put these brackets back with a quality set of headers because they thought the braces were important.

Check at some Vette junk yards for replacements or make some braces.
