I cant remember where i heard this, but see if you might be able to help me. I read some article about some guys who put an ecm from a 90 camaro with the 305 tpi, in a 84 vette.. The reason this was done was to get a faster processing ecm in the car. This supposedly helped with all the air/fuel mixtures ect... This mod gave the car better gas mileage, more horsepower, an the potential to do more mods?! If anyone has heard of this, or has any other ideas about new ecms please let me know.. I like having the underdog, the ceasefire, or misfire.. I must have got a goodie, with 150k miles, im still pulling 14 flats, an 1.92ish 60 foot times, with basic mod's like mufflers, hypertech, and throttle performance switch.. oh, an the high flow cat lmao..
its actually a 305 tbi ecm vette magazine used, (or maybe corvette fever i dont remember) but they couldnt get ti working right, because those guys are retards.
Most people install a 7747 from a 87-92 pickup, its fully tunible and splices in.
But it turns out the stock em uses the exact same cpu and clock speed as the 7747, the poor throttle reponse and sluggish ecm is due to a serious lack of spark timing and part throttle.
One of the crossfire members has been hacking the stock ecm, and has it to the point where you can tune the spark, the v/e tables and a few other things. Probably in a few weeks he should have most of it decoded.
