Yes the engine was stock they did upgrade the valve springs. but nothing else. Pretty cool I thought
Probably more of a gain from valve springs if it had any valve float before.If the heads can move the air at a higher lift then more hp can be had.That usually dictates the engine could use a larger cam.
If it were me I would run a roller tip and go to 1.6 rockers and call it a day.

Yep...a 400 hp motor will generally see bigger gains from a given performance part, than an 200 hp motor. I would be quite amazed to see a stock CFI or TPI gain 15 hp from rockers.
That was not the original article. They saw 15 Hp and 17 Lb ft. In any event I will be after I port the manifold replacing the 1.5s with 1.6s
Copy that! I wish you the best results. When I used 1.6 rockers on my CFI car, they made no discernible difference, both in SOTP and at the drag track. Porting the intake however, made a huge difference. Good luck and most of all...have fun!
